I’ve watched a number of blu-ray and standard dvds with this machine and all I can say is wow. The picture quality produced by blu-ray makes me never want to watch a standard dvd again. But, until all of the titles get with Blu I guess I’m stuck watching standard def occasionally.

I haven’t had any problems with it whatsoever with anything I’ve watched. Some of the minor inconveniences that I’ve noticed is the load time is fairly slow- it’s not nearly as quick as a standard dvd player. The payoff is worth the few extra seconds of wait. The disc flip isn’t as smooth as my previous standard dvd players either. There is a bit longer pause- maybe a second or two. You definitely notice it. It’s a bit noisy loading a disc during all of the initial reading of the info, but is quiet during the movie.

    Highly recommended.
