It’s Monday afternoon and the phone rings – an inquiry from one of our lighting control system representatives to see if we were available for a visit Tuesday. In preparation for their visit, it started me on a journey to define, “What makes a lighting control system a good lighting control system?”
My answer to that questions was the following: it (lighting control system) should pay for itself; provide more functions than manual traditional switching or dimming; not be confined to only lighting; provide aesthetic values; accommodate change; and be accessible through others electronic systems. Open for feedback.
The bigger question… does our lighting control representative read our ‘blog!?’

Being able to control the lighting in my home/business via the internet has defined “vaule added service” to me.
Yes of course I read your blog Fred. Thank you for the feedback and look forward to you elaborating on the ideas of what makes a good lighting control system.
Provide better value than getting “green” certified.
Enjoyed the meeting yesterday. Appreciate your insights and input regarding lighting control and your company. Look forward to speaking again soon.
