MIT’s New Playground

MIT’s Media Lab, the “mothership” for parts of the electronic industry, unveiled its new home last week.  Costing $90 million, the six-story incubator allows some of the world’s smartest and most creative engineers the ability to explore their “inner robot,” create new social networking tools or build intelligent music systems. Two news releases from the Los Angeles Times caught our attention today; first, social networking (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.) applications growing acceptance into the mobile phone markets.  Secondly, was the introduction of applications that allow parents to stay “connected” with family events when obstacles (work, travel, and more) prevent attendance at these functions.  (more…)
