Apple announces Summer Release of 4.0 for iPhone

Today Apple announced the newest iPhone / iPod operating system – OS 4.0 due to be released this summer. 4.0 boasts over 100 new features such as Create playlists, 5x digital zoom, tap to focus on video, gift apps, geotagging, places in the photo app, change the homescreen wallpaper, bluetooth keyboards, and spell checker just to name a few. eNergy, the latest app by eLifespaces, was overlooked by Google last week as they and 45 other companies sent a public letter soliciting support from President Barack Obama suggesting federal support for technology that gives utility customers access to information about their energy and utility consumption. Seeking to tear down barriers posed by multitudes of local utility companies, the letter seeks to allow utility customers access rights to their individual information. (more…)

The atmosphere was similar to a “Dismmercial” concert (i.e. Miley Cyrus and the ones before her), wherein the staff appearing before the concert’s start begin leading the crowd with cheers, hi-fives, and other celebratory efforts. Placed in two lines (those having pre-registered and those wishing to purchase), you were introduced to your Apple Store salesperson and escorted into nirvana where an iPad purchase was possible. Coffee, water and constant staff contact was provided while future iPad owners stood in line. (more…)
Apple Signaling WalMart iPad Availability

“It appears that authorized Savant dealers will be able to resell iPads after purchasing them from Savant, based on the company’s status as an Apple Authorized Reseller and part of Apple’s Proprietary Solutions Provider Program,” reports CEPro in a 3/30/10 article. What was perceived as a tightly controlled initial release (Apple Store & BestBuy) may be showing signs of loosening as April 3rd approaches. (more…)

Microsoft is currently running a promotion where they are actually going to give away two Apple 15″ MacBook Pro laptops……and they aren’t even boot-camped with Windows 7 , which they probably should have done because it is my experience that Windows runs much better on a Mac than on a PC anyway.
